Geeky Pleasures

Ahh... One of the simple pleasures of IT work.

Someone at the office brought in his home computer for me to fix after it died taking a surge from a lightning strike.

Panic ensued when I gave him the, "It doesn't look good, but I'll do the best I can." speech.

Lo and behold, all it took was a fix of the master boot record on the primary hard drive and it booted right up- no major harm done.

The wine was a thank you gift! I think he would of needed it more than I.
